2017, embroidery
8 x 8 x 0.3 inches

This 8-inch needle felted flamingo is on kona cotton fabric, set in a natural bamboo embroidery hoop. -Needle felting or wool painting is a method of using a barbed needle to felt together wool fibers onto a flat wool felt surface. I spend hours on each piece, meticulously layering different colors of wool to create a unique work of art. -There is no glue or thread holding this together; the fibers interlock and the image is purely wool. -I've neatly glued down the felt to the hoop in the back so it will lay flat if hung on a wall. I never use glue directly on the back of the art.
